Your documents created in Microsoft Office should open seamlessly in OpenOffice.

AppleWorks 6 word processing documents will open seamlessly in Pages.

AppleWorks spreadsheet documents will open seamlessly in Numbers or NeoOffice.


* If you have an AppleWorks draw document you need to use, send it to Pam and she can convert it to a PDF.

* If you have an AppleWorks 4 document that you need to open, send it to Pam and she will convert it to AppleWorks 6.


Here's a quick guide to converting your AppleWorks or Office documents to iWork or OpenOffice documents.


Word Processing:


To open an AppleWorks word processing document in Pages

  • Open Pages; go to File, Open and navigate to the document to open

  • Save as Pages document or Export to other formats


    OR: Hold down the command key and click on the document--choose Open With--and select Pages.



Spreadsheet:

Open the document in Numbers

  • Open Numbers; go to File, Open and navigate to the document to open

  • Save in Numbers or Export to other formats

OR: Hold down the command key and click on the document--choose Open With--and select Numbers.

PowerPoint:


Open a PowerPoint document in OpenOffice:
  • Launch OpenOffice
  • Navigate to PowerPoint document
  • Open
  • Save in NeoOffice
OR: Hold down the command key and click on the document--choose Open With--and select OpenOffice.
